Composition Projects
Below is a list of some of the many musical composition projects I have created, whether it be for music theory class, arranging for concert band, or just a quick chapel preservice piece.
World O World
MUS 313 Band Arrangement
This is my biggest arrangement to-date. This semester I took a class in music arranging, and our final project was to pick any piece and make a grade 2 band arrangement (for those who don’t know, that’s middle school level). I may have been a bit of an overachiever with my grade 4 arrangement, but either way, it was a lot of fun. I love the piece I chose, World O World, the conclusion to Jacob Collier’s 4-volume series Djesse. Admittedly, this was not my first attempt at arranging the piece for band, but it went a lot better this time after having taken a structured class in arranging.
Your Days and Ways to God Surrender
Chapel Prelude
Imagine you’re me, scheduled to play for morning chapel on Tuesday. It’s Sunday and you don’t have any music prepared before or after the service. Because I am the way that I am, I chose to arrange the hymn as a prelude rather than try to find an already existing arrangement. Over three hours were spent in a practice room, plunking things out on a piano and copying them into notation software, leading to the birth of this arrangement.

Music Theory projects
Here are a couple of the projects from Music Theory 1-2. Unfortunately, it seems as though some of my projects from Music Theory 3-4 have been lost due to a change in notation software licensing. Regardless, enjoy the few projects I’ve included!
